The Gabriel Method – Weight Loss Without Dieting

Reading The Gabriel Method
Reading The Gabriel Method

Some of you might have noticed that just recently I have put up the advertisement for The Gabriel Method to the right hand side of my blog. This has got a very special reason (of course!) ;)

Over the past few months whenever I was surfing the Internet I came across adverts for The Gabriel Method. On and on and on it went, and I was actually getting a bit annoyed by having to look at these adverts all the time. If you have been trying to lose weight and been surfing the net, I am sure you have had the same experience! I never even really looked at the site, I just brushed it off as another one of these diet programs that doesn’t work and is just full of …. something else. ;)

And then something happened. A good friend of mine, Sarah, gave me the book “The Gabriel Method” when I was over at her house visiting her. She said that I could keep it, she didn’t want it, and I was doing this “blog about weight loss anyway, it might just give me something to write, or help me with it in a way.” Well, I can’t say no to a free book about weight loss, so I took it of course!

For the next few weeks it was sitting on my bookshelf at home. I didn’t really feel like reading another weight loss book. And then, one night when I had nothing else to read, I thought I might just have a look what Jon Gabriel has to say. So I started the book.

I have been reading a little bit every night for the past week or so, and I have to say “The Gabriel Method” has so far been a bit of an eye-opener for me. What Jon talks about in his book is a very unique way of losing weight, but one that makes 100% sense, and I had a few “aha” moments when going through the chapters. He is totally in line with what I want to achieve and am trying to document here on my blog, which is a permanent, struggle free, sustainable weight loss.

What he is teaching in his book is backed by solid research. It’s all about your body wanting to lose weight. Your body seems to have an internal logic that determines how big or small you are. If your body’s “FAT” program is turned on, no matter what you do to lose weight, you will be fighting a losing battle as your body wants you to stay big. On the other hand, if you can turn your body’s FAT program off, nothing will be easier than losing weight as your body wants you to be thin. Sound funny, I know, but when you read the book it becomes really clear, and the best thing is that Jon is giving you all the instructions on what to do to turn your body’s FAT program off. It is simply brilliant, and, as I said before, it makes total sense.

I don’t want to get into it too much today, I will keep writing about it in the future and I will dedicate an entire section of this blog to The Gabriel Method, all I want to finish off with today is what I am going to do over the next few weeks to apply the Gabriel Method:

  • I have picked out a couple of really great photos of myself from 13 years ago and look at them every night, and then I listen to Jon’s CD which is accompanying the book while I go to sleep. (If I had never been thin I could have picked any photos/pictures out of a magazine of a woman’s body I really like). But, as I was lucky to once have had a great body, I chose to look at myself! ;) Here are the photos:

  • I have a short shopping list of things I need to get, which are:
    • Flaxseed Oil
    • Omega 3 Capsules
    • Whey Protein (unsweetened, unflavored, preferably organic)
    • Linseeds (Flaxseeds)
    • Digestive Enzymes
    • Probiotics
    • A multi-vitamin that contains Vitamin E
      • most of all this should be available in a health food store.

I really think the method Jon is teaching is the solution to long term, sustainable weight loss without struggle or diet. If your body’s FAT program is turned off, the weight will fall off by itself, because your body’s cravings will have been eliminated, so it won’t be hard to stay away from all the bad foods.

BTW, if I would have grabbed the book earlier and started reading it, I might have caught Jon here in Perth on a seminar! I missed it by a mere few weeks!!! Gabriel Method Seminars in Australia

So, I’m off now to swell in memories of what once was and what is going to be again… I love going to bed these days!

WOW! I wonder why people get so excited about birthdays. You just age and pile on the fat. LOL. Men, you looked absolutely fabulous and still do from that picture of you hugging a bathroom scale in the post; Getting Rid Of My Weight Scale.
If I’m not wrong I think Oprah’s Dr. Oz has also said wonderful things about all of those supplements you mentioned above.
I ony wish we had health food stores here in Nigeria. Who knows? We might even have and I’m yet to discover them.
Looking forward to more posts about Gabriel’s book.

@Udegbunam, thanks for the confidence boost! ;) Yeah, with about 15 kg less I should be close to what I was once, – apart from the wrinkles and grey hair, that is! I never thought that it might be very difficult in other countries to have access to supplements, but of course you are right. Without the supplements, the Gabriel Method will not work, as it is based on giving your body what it needs, and unfortunately you cannot get all of it out of “modern” foods any more, they are pretty depleted of their nutrients. But as long as you cannot give your body all the nutrients it needs, it will keep craving food to become satisfied. :(

  3. There’s no grey hair in that world that L’Oreal Paris Feria can’t fix. lol. A few highlights in the right place and you’re good as new. Botox will take care of the wrinkles if you’re bold enough to take that step. (I’m not.lol)
The weight is the tricky though! I’m taking your advice to drink water first whenever I feel hungry and it seems to be working for now.

P.S: I’ve been so selfish on my blog ;) . Please when next you comment on my blog, break the rules of my comment policy and use your choice keywords. I’ll always approve it.

Hi Petra, I want to put my body’s FAT program off too. I am practicing yoga at least one a week to maintain my body weight. My body looks perfect few months ago because I go for yoga class twice a week! Weight loss is a long journey, while eating is my favorite things to do, I need to yoga for the rest of my life…I hope so. :)
